Have you tried aqua jogging?

Try your local pool (preferably over 20m) they usually have aqua belts or buoyancy aids which you can use (If not they are about 20pounds). Jump in the deep end and basically mimick the running action in the water. Try to exadurate the running style to get a full range of motion. If you find this type of running too easy you could incorporate a session into your workout such as 30sec hard 30 sec easy for about 20min.

This type of exercsie will keep you off your feet and allow your achilles to recover.

Tendonitis is an inflamatory injury and thus apart from rest staying off it is the only course of action. Try taking ibuprofen in the short term and this might just prevent further inflamation.

Hope this helps,

Tom
