Question:
Amenorrhoea?
What are the ways of treatment? Are there ways to treat it without involving gain of body mass, and more particularly, without gaining fat? Like I've read that some people go on the pill for hormone replacement therapy, but is that only for older people? And would it be possible to restore menstrual periods using the pill even if you are underweight?

There are two 'schools of thought' that I am aware of for the cause of amenorrhea. The first school of thought is poor nutrition, and the second is extremely high levels of physical activity/energy expenditure. Both identify the other as a contributing factor, but claim their own to be the main cause. I've heard of women taking HRT after menopause to prevent bone demineralization, hypertension, and other factors associated with menopause/postmenopause, but not women with amenorrhea (no period, but not menopausal).

Thanks for your info! Also, another question, is it possible to still have ovulation cycles, but not actually menstruate? But still have the egg released and the hormone cycle and everything? I hear it's very rare... but how do you tell if you're still having the cycle but just not bleeding? By mood and grumpiness level? :)
