Question:
Body fat %
I'm 15 year old male and 8st 11lbs. My doctors say my Bmi is too low and needs to be higher - want me to put on weight fast.
the thing is, i don't want to put this weight on in fat. My BF% is 13% and i don't want it any higher as i think this is still too high. I train 2-3 times a weeks, cardio weight and stomach muscles mainly. I eat a god diet with lot of protein, fruit + veg and low saturated fats.
My parents are worried about my weight for health reasons and want me to put the weight on fast. but i don't want it to be fat. Is what i put on going to be fat and increase my BF%. i'm on holiday in 14 weeks and want to lower my BF% to about 10%, is this possible?
Please could you give me some advice as i am so confused.

Your body fat % is pretty good I don't really see a need for you to have it any lower. But if you want to put on muscle mass lift heavy weights for less reps for example: if you are doing say squats lift as much weight as you can for 8 reps and do about three to five sets you could also do pyramids so for a warm up set put on a comfortable weight and do 7 of 8 reps then add weight and do 5 reps add weight and do 3 reps add weight do 2 reps then do your one rep max if once you are down to 1 reps you feel you could lift more keep adding weight and doing 1 rep until you feel you have maxed out.

Problem is you are only 15!! Try not to do any heavy lifting until you have fully grown, in particular squats that can add pressure on your spine. My advice is to stop worrying about body fat-if you are naturally slim then you will not get fat by putting on a few extra pounds, most importantly just let things happen naturally!!. It is a well known fact that you grow up first and then you grow out (build more muscle etc). That's why you may seem like you're all legs and arms at the moment. BMI is NOT a valid measurement for people that are still growing or for athletes even so I wouldn't read much into whatever BMI reading you got at all.

Firstly. Always go on Dr's advice. (Even though they generally don’t spend many weeks on exercise).
But your only 15. When I was 15 my nickname at school was "bone". Lets just say I’m not slim now (nor am I fat). Maturation rates differ in every individual.

At 15 I think the best thing you can do is eat a healthy diet and do a good amount of exercise. I'm not sure of the effects of weight lifting on a young, perhaps not fully developed, body. Play lots of football and rugby, and maybe tennis in the summer too,

A good wholegrain cereal for breakfast is great, then maybe a wholegrain rice / pasta / quinoa / couscous salad as part of your lunch, and some wholegrain carbohydrate with your dinner too. A good balanced diet while you are still growing is essential to making sure your body stays lean, strong, healthy and functional as you get older. Take a look at this food pyramid: http://www.blakeboles.com/new_pyramid.jpg
At 14% body fat you are at the low end of the bracket you should be in, I'd certainly not advise you to lose any fat.

I am a 17 year old boy and am only 152cm tall and weigh 47 kilo's. I have not yet grown, but have a body fat percentage of 8%. I belive your doctor might be over-exagerating, as my doctor and nutritionist believe I'm am quite healthy as I am, and this is majorly important for me, as I have to make sure I have the right weight and energy to grow.
If this is of no help to you,I would reccommend doing weight's training, and little cardio, as you'll use the leftover energy to gain muscle mass and some body fat percentange, but you'' will only notice the muscle mass increasement.
