Question:
To train carrying weight or not?
Is it better to train for cycling carrying a weight and then how much weight is good without stressing your body? or is it better to get used to race conditions?

hello there. i just wish to state the obvious, please don't think i am patronising you just simply pointing out. Cycling is a non-weight bearing sport i.e. the bike carries your weight not your lower body joints - therefore carrying weight on your shoulders serves no purpose functionally. instead, do base training... increase your mileage every 2 weeks by no more than 10%. also add in 2 speedier sessions and a couple of strength sessions in the gym. if u did 5 or 6 sessions a week you would see some decent progress after say 6 to 12 weeks. start slow and get better... ROME WAS NOT BUILT IN A DAY and any endurance race is an almost herculean task!
