I don't take creatine. I'm a marathoner, ironman finisher, endurance athlete. Last couple of physicals I have had, my blood work shows my creatine (kinase?) level as being high. What exactly does that mean? I asked my sister who is an RN. And she said it's probably because I don't drink enough water. Is this true. What do you think?

I attended a lecture on supplementation recently. High creatine levels are desired by most athletes as it reduces the amount of recovery required between efforts/sessions. It's more useful to power/strength athletes as it boosts maximal efforts, but far less so for endurance athletes.
I'd say it's absolutely nothing to worry about. One area it is useful for endurance athletes is in the take up of carbohydrate to store glycogen in the muscles, meaning you can go for longer before you fatigue. There's evidence to suggest taking a creatine supplement in the final few days leading up to a marathon (with carbs) increases absorption of the carbs and gives impressive boosts to glycogen storage. You obviously don't need the supplements!
If ever you fancy turning your hand to a power or strength sport, you're laughing :-)

I wouldn't worry. high serum creatine kinase levels are an indicator of intense, prolonged, muscle activity. It is also used as an indicator of MI (there are several classifications of CK), but I'll bet your levels were high because you are so active. No worries :)
