Hi all =) I have signed up for a half on 27 April 2008. Before this, I have run a 1:57:0 half on 30 May 2008 and a 47:40 9 km race on 13 April 2008. I have usually race once a month but I found that my legs feel a bit sore during my 9 km race. Is it too much to expect to run a PR on this coming race? Does anyone has any good recommendation on the training intensity and rest that I can refer to? Thanx a million =)

Rest period can depend on several factors!
Submitted 3 weeks 3 days ago by radams1. Average time spent per day training.
2. distance of last race, regardless of chip time.
3. Age
4. Level of conditioning.
Granted, everybody is different @ the physiological level, so any rest period would only be a guideline, not an order.
I personally take @least 2 days recovery, then 7 days "active" rest after a half-marathon before starting my next training cycle. I'm 46, a certified trainer and member of USATF.
