Question:
does anyone know?
I am a 16 year old girl who plays competitive netball. Throughout the year every game I felt sick while playing, almost like runners trots but not that bad as actually having to sprint to the toilet, just the need to go to the toilet and it was affecting my game. I also had a nausea feeling and light headed. I could eat more before my game but I dont think this is the reason I am feeling like this because there are other girls that eat less than me and dont feel like this.
Does anyone know?

Dear menypeny,
As a former footbalplayer I feld the same during a game. It was that I eating to late. Some other guys didn't had the problems even they eat later as me.
So I eat must early and it was the solution for me.
Try it, who knows.

I wait AT least 1-3 hours after I eat to exercise. Learn the way your functions and eat accordingly

Some people take a longer time to digest, some people can do fine after 1 hours, some need up to 3 hours, you're probably need to have a lighter meal before your exercises, try eating softer food like dried fruits and cereal before your workout and you'll be fine.

Light-headedness could be related to overbreathing when anxious or stressed, the need to go to the loo and nausea to a 'nervous stomach'. If you are following the same routine (eating and toileting) prior to training and not experiencing the same sensations, and experience them less in less important (to you) matches, then I'd be wondering if it is to do with pre-match nerves. Especially if your sleep is affected the night before.
Does this cast some light on what might be going on?

frequent urination and nausea are symptomes of hyperglycemia. Light headedness is a symptom of hypoglycemia. Go to the clinic and ask for a glucose tolerance test or another test for diabetes.
