Creatine is a fantastic supplement for activities requiring more intense movements. Rugby is a perfect example of this with your scrumming and agile sprinting etc...
You should take your creatine an hour before playing to allow it into your system, but you can take too much. The only side effect i know of is water retention. So long as you take the amounts prescribed on the tub you will be scoring tries galore!

One thing to be aware of is that supplements are not regulated or tested. So, you really want to ask about specific supplements. Also, keep this in mind if you are subject to drug testing. I know of people who have been banned from their sport for two years because of contaminants in a common multivitamin. So you might consider increasing your creatine intake by eating the right foods. Some high creatine foods are:

salmon (4.5g/kg)
or the best
herring (6.5- 10 g/kg)
I have not heard of any side effects from getting it through real foods.

Other than the gain of weight (probably water retention), no deleterious effects have been associated with creatine supplementation. you gotta be especial attention if you have any problem associated with kidney function. this individuals may be at risk.

Patients with chronic heart failure have benefits result by an increase in skeletal muscle mass and endurance.
