Question:

What is the best way to gain coaching qualifications in football?

Hiya. Im posting on behalf of a football (soccer) coach in South Africa. He's intrested in furthering his football qualifications. I was wondering what peoples opinions are regarding the best places to get good coaching qualifications and ideally how he should plan his progress?

p.s he has family in the Uk so would be able to travel to complete the courses if required.

Certofications are good, but college degrees are more impressive. Majors like exercise science and sports management will give you a good resume.

degrees wont necessarily make you a better coach but help with underpinning knowledge of areas.

Look at the FA website and follow the coach education programme - they will fall in line with the UEFA and FIFA coaching badges as you progress up the ladder of the programme

The best way to get football coaching qualification is to sign up by the FA coaching programme that is validated by UEFA. Studies in any other areas like sport science are good but not essential.

Get an uefa-license. The english FA have a valid UEFA programme. Just sign up.
