groin injury
Could anyone help me.I've had this groin strain for 10 years on and of.Groin was tight after squats the day before went out to play football no time for warm up groin goes to the extent that I could not walk. From then on I think it has healed then it goes again.Had physiotherapy on NHS and private but about 6 months is the longest it has lasted, any help would be great.

I had a groin injury once. I would suggest going back to physiotherapy, consulting them for at least 8 sessions. While this is going, you need to ensure a good stretching program and start balancing the muscles of the body. Once this is done there should no longer be any strain on the groin. The general hot cold rule if it feels tender and probably inflamed.
Lastly, start a progressive building program around the 8th session of physiotherapy, which would start with walking and slowly increasing the pace.
Yes Iagree with Jean go back to the physiotherapy for at least 8 sessions. You needtostart streching a lot.
Hi the thing is I do a lot of streching ( hope the right kind )I do what the physio says but no joy.Have been told that it may have something to do with a bad hip or something else like that.Got apointment with physio cross fingers this time.
Best of luck! Please pass the info that the physio gives you. Not all physiotherapists are top notch in their field and may miss certain aspects involving correct training, stretching and rehabilitation.
Bad hip can be sorted, possibly see a chyroprac too if you can. He should be able to tell you. Another thing you can do is a simple test. Lie on your back, have somebody pull your heels back, relax and make sure they're both similarly placed and let the person determine whether or not the one leg is longer than the other. This problem is often caused by the gluteal muscles and errector spinae.
One last thing, ask the physio to determine if there are any muscle imbalances in the body and ask for advice on correcting them.
Hi been to physio not much help, says he's done all he can think off ( core strength and some basic stretches ),but is referring to the surgeon for an x-ray cross fingers they can get it sorted.Have you got some good core stuff and more stretches for my problem cheers
Just thought I would tell you that I have been to a different physio and he thinks that it is my pelvis that is out of line, and has given me some exercises to help this.Let you know how I get on
