Question:
Has anyone dealt with vocal fold dysfunction in a swimmer
My daughter, a competitive swimmer, has developed vocal fold dysfunction. The speech therapist has given her 1 exercise to do, but placing your thumbs under your rib cage and moving them with your breath is a little hard to do during a 200 fly, as is panting (what some runners do). Does anyone have any ideas that might work with a swimmer?
Thanks.

I have a daughter experiencing the same problem. She is a 16 yr old highly competitive swimmer with exercise induced vocal cord dysfunction that has made it very difficult to race and now cannot make it in a practice without a problem.Have seen many specialists, but not a lot of answers. How do you swim with this?Any tips would be great.
