How much muscle mass should I gain?
I have gone from 83Kg to 89Kg by performing a weights routine in the gym over the last year. I have found my times over 1 hour 10 miles and half marathons have really come down. I'm curious if anyone has any guidelines of what the optimum weight gain should be (probably in percentage terms) before the increase weight starts to actually slow me down?

hello there, i have tried to find an article on this subject but was a negative one. basically some muscle is good, i would guess that you are quite tall, maybe 6ft 2 ish ???
this would sound like a decent running weight for someone your height.

Thanks, I too had trouble finding anything. Actually I'm about 6ft so not far off.
Submitted 10 weeks 1 day ago by wardie2437So far it doesn't seem to be holding me back, the only thing I have to go on is the calorific burn up, if you enter my weight on a treadmill, obviously it goes up, the heavier you get, but not by a huge amount.

we have established your weight is 89kg, what pace do you run at ?? I can determine a pretty accurate metabolic rate for you is i know that.
