Question:

I want to run a marathon in November, how do I go about it?

Can one go from practically zero mileage per week to completing a marathon by November? All I do in the way of running is run with my dogs, which is not much because they tend to run and stop, and so, I have not had even thirty minutes of continuous running. I'm 43. I used to run 5ks in my late 20s and early 30s. If I do prepare for this marathon, is it ok for me to continue with my badminton? I play three to four games, three times a week?

It is absolutely possible...Find you local running shoe store and inquire about a local running club. There, you will find other beginners and also veterans to help you train. Keep playing badmitten as well, cross training is important.

Yes, this is very possible. I ran my first full marathon last fall. I was in the Army and working long hours everyday, so I didn't have much time to train. I was an experienced mid distance runner so I figured six weeks was enough time for me to train. This didn't go so well, but I still managed to run the marathon in less than 4 hours despite my bare minimum training. If I could train for this in addition to Army physical training five days a week which was fairly worthless to me at that time, then you can definitely keep up your badminton and marathon training over the next 6 to 7 months.
