Question:

new to 10 k training and need advice

im new to competitive running and have decided to focus on 10km distance this is my first competitive season and have been running for about 5 months now with no particular plan, just random speedwork, long runs ect and am trying to periodise my training, and am going to be running about 5 10km races from january to september how many times per year should I peak? each race or would some of them have to be run in a slower time during a base training phase? need advice please

Hi! You should really pick to races that you really want to do well at. This is best for peaking, and getting your best race. Pick the races so that you give yourself four months in between. The other races you will still be in very good shape for if you train with regular speed work.
