Re pins and needles
Hi everyone
Thanks to Jodi for answering my question on pins and needles, your injury is very similar to mine (3 bones, 2 fib, 1 tib, 2 plates and numerous screws), and what you have described with purple toes and pins and needles are exactly the same. I have had my cast on for nearly 3 weeks now and I'm still getting pins and needles. I,also have been told that I will get my cast off in 6 weeks but have an appointment with my consultant in a week with a review to putting full weight on my foot. I would like to go back to work when I'm able to put full weight on or even when my cast comes off but I'm afraid I may not be able to. I suppose I have to be sensible and only go back when the Doc tells me to but I'm so bored as most of my fellow sufferers will understand. I also am very lucky in that I work for the NHS so will get paid for being off work, so I shouldn't complain as there are people out there who need to work to earn, but there is so much day time television one can watch, I've always said to myself the moment I begin to watch Jeremy Kyle is the day that I'll do away with myself, so far i have refrained so am not quite insane yet. I'm holding on to the dream that as soon as I get my plaster off I shall go back to work as I have an office job so I should manage as I'm sitting down most of the day. This is a great site though as fellow sufferers can give sound advice. Thanks everyone for commenting and answering my question.
