Question:

What recommendations are there for managing lateral epicondylitis?

I am soon to be a graduate sports therapist looking for recommendations for common injuries.

Look up any ART (Active release technique) providers. Its a little painful but works great.

Hey Rachel,
I see quite a bit of tennis elbow, my management is usually active release techiniques(www.activerelease.com), they run one european course a year and do all the modules (Upper Extremity,Lower Extremity, and Spine).
Sports therapists are allowed to do the courses as well, usually a good mix of chiropractors, physios, sports therapists and massage therapist.

Prior to learning active release, I used a combination of dry needling, massage, and cross friction. Home advice stretches+strengthening of the wrist flexors and extensors, icing, and I also suggest the patient buy a power ball.

Good Luck

thankyou for your suggestions. I've recently got an acupuncture qualification so i can use that with my massage techniques as well. I also intend to look up active release techniques and see how they can be of benefit.
