Question:
Preparation for snowboarding?
I've never done any winter sports before but got a 3 hour snowboard lesson for christmas which I'll be doing in about 3 weeks. Even though its quite soon I was wondering if there are any exercises I should do to prepare? As I know that some skiers feel they benefit from strengthening their quads by doing loads of squats etc before heading to the slopes.
Thanks alot

I have not had the pleasure of ever seeing snow more than once myself...exercises that focus on balance and body control. A balance board might be help full, and squats are good for everthing(kinda). But, I have never gone skiing.

Squats are definitly the best-you could end up spending half the day in that position. You'd want to develop endurance with your squats so do high reps (20-30) and low weight. You would also want to work on core strength, particularly the obliques. Make sure to stretch your hip flexors too.
