Question:

Help finding sport

He ran track best mile time of 5:55 and ran cross country, best time of 20: 40 for a 5k. He is lean, but not skinny or fat. He is a decent sprinter, but can not jump high. After 9 weeks of weight training his squat max went from 180 pds to 260...what sports should he try for? His is also flexibile and can do splints.

Has he tried Martial Arts? His flexibility and stamina will be assets and he can progress at his own pace.

Middle distance running. Tennis is another suggestion due to the sprinting being able to cover balls around the court. And flexibility is always a plus for tennis players.

Tell him to try loads of different sports, and do the one that he most enjoys. In the long run this is the one he is most likely to train hard for, and hence perform to a higher standard in.

One obvious question.... what are his motor skills like?

Is he more of than athlete than sportsperson?

No point saying tennis if he can't hit the ball for toffee.

The one which he has a interest in obviously, if he sucks at it , work hard at it. After all, sports is about doing what you like.
