How do you train your mind to be more focused?

I wear an ipod when i run and workout with some high tempo beats. My mind is then focussed on a good workout. This also stops people talking to you and breaking your concentration. I also make sure i an well hydrated and have enough carbs prior to a workout to ensure i am not thinking about energy levels and lack of performance. Rgds

I practise a bit of "suffering state" in training so you can adopt pain better when you need it. Check some African runners life.
