Question:
Tips for sprint endurance?
I am 12 and I sometimes feel tired after sprinting 40m. This is what may be affecting my 200m. 60m-8.8 100m-13.1 200m-29.1

Athlete 12,
Submitted 22 weeks 5 days ago by SodaDo not be concerned that you feel tired after a 40m sprint.
At 12 years old the most important thing is to enjoy your ability to run fast which, judging by your posted times, you are very capable of doing.
It is expected that after a flat out sprint that we will feel tired - thats perfectably normal.
At the moment your typical race distance for sprinting will be 60m or 150m. To build endurance for this distance of races at your age you need to be taking part in sessions typically 1000m to 1250 meters in length. Stuff like 5 x 250m off 4 to 6 mins recovery. Or pyrimads like 75, 100, 125, 150 and 200m then back down again. These should be run at 90 to 95% of your 200m sprint speed.
You are still quite young with a long time to improve your speed.
Join a club and find a coach. Enjoy your ability to run fast.

dude wuts your best time? if you feel tired from runnin 40m its normal because you exert all your force. its like not pacing your self but just doing the best that you can. it would affect your 200m if you dont pace ur self in 200m in 40 m just run as fast as u can. but for the 200m you just need to speed up after the curve never speed up on the curve you excert more force in ther.

Hi buddy,i am pretty sure that you are getting tired after 40 meters because you must have to improve your running technique. If you are running with awong form , you are doing extra force to move your body fast. So,Try to work on that using or practicing sprint drills to correct your form. This will take you some time, so be patient, you are only 12, try to learn the correct technique first and after that and with more age work on your speed endurance.
