Question:

Incorporating swimming into weekly triathlon training....

Help!!! I hate indoor pools and it is too cold to do any open water training at the moment. Does anyone have a more interesting swim training plan other than up and down, up and down.....?

Do you swim with a training group? Really you shouldn't be swimming up and down. Training should be varied and should engage your brain. If it isn't find a better group. I swim masters and we have quite a few triathletes that come down. Have you tried your local masters club?

Rob,
Unfortunately, there isn't such a group where I live. I have been thinking of joining the Thames turbo tri club but not got around to it yet...probably because it would mean a lot of weekly travel (90+ miles each way). One of the disadvantages of living in the middle of nowhere!

Hi Grumpy

I'm sharing the same problem like you hate pool especially swimming up and down, up and down.

You can try getting yourself a underwater radio which can fix into your ear so that you wo8ldn't feel bored which doing your swim drill.

I'm using that everyday doing my 2km swim in the morning.
(I'm swim everyday without fail provided is heavy rain)

Best Regards

Gus
