Masters Recovery?
I'm a 46 year old Female triathlete and am
having recovery problems after training. Seems like
the day after a workout I am really sore and wiped out
I've noticed this for the last 6 mos or so. Currently I
take 1 day off a week and every 3rd week recovery, I just started
a new training plan 2 weeks ago after a 2 week detraining period. Have had
physical and only problem in blood work is slighly low White blood count and slightly elevated muscle inflamation. Do not get sick often. Only medication on is T3. Have tweeked
diet. After my long run yesterday my legs have a throbbing feeling, don't know
how I'll do my bike workout today. Any suggestions or thoughts?

How is your nutrition? I find that post training nutrition is very important. I always have a protein shake, with a litle creatine plus carbs (sweet potato or oatmeal), then 2 hours later more carbs. Dont forget pre training nutrition. Watch your blood sugar levels, constant 2.5-3 hour feedings are necessary to ensure you dont get that tired feeling throughout the day. This is only my initial thoughts as i used tobe the same and i still train twice daily for 5 days and keeping fully fuelled is very important.
