Question:

Triathlon - Off-season workouts

I would go for strength basis (plyos, dynamic weight lifting & circuits) and technique workouts, nothing or a bit of aerobic resistance; so I want to let tissues to achieve full recovery-regeneration by working on this in the next 3-6 months.
I feel weak at this moment due to a long aerobic workouts during the year.

So I want to do a good transition to triathlon after off-season activity.

But need some help about cardio maintenance in off-season: should I work on this with high-intensity (??% HR) and/or moderate-intensity (??% HR), and short duration&repetitions workouts (anaerobic)?

Tks for comments,

If you are looking to maintain your cardio fitness, then moderate intensity workouts (65-80% Max HR) would be ideal. Try to perform them reguarly

Good luck with your training and enjoy your off season

I recommend using a heartrate monitor if you do not do so already. If you are in the off-season, you should focus on maintaining and improving your endurance base by exercising at a slow to moderate intensity(55-70% max HR). You sould also exercise at a little higher intensity(70-80% max HR) from time to time. This will help increase your aerobic power and VO2 max in the long run.

Yes, I would add that technique is the most important thing to focus on in the off-season
