 <title>Training calamities.</title>

 <description> &lt;p&gt;All of us have stories of training calamities or disasters. &lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;My favourite disaster story comes from early 2006. I had just bought a new bike, having not ridden for 22 years. I’d got a dream, you see; to go from being a fat unfit couch potato to an Ironman in 16 months. Everyone scoffed – I couldn’t swim three strokes and was extremely unfit, but I felt I knew better.&lt;/p&gt;

 <description> &lt;p&gt;I am a 39 yr old fun runner with a max HR of 180.&lt;br /&gt;
I have run 4x marathons, PB 4 hrs 1 min. (last year, edinburgh)&lt;br /&gt;
I am training for a marathon in September&lt;br /&gt;
I have been dormant for winter!&lt;br /&gt;
Today I ran 10 k, hilly, at 85% max HR, in 56mins&lt;br /&gt;
a week ago i ran 10k in a race scenario (wimbledon audi), in 46 mins&lt;/p&gt;
