I just haven’t had the time to write like before so I wanted to create a solid article which tackles a wide range of issues.
Why programs don’t work? Everyone has been there but does anyone know why? With the help of Boris Batchman I tried to answer those questions. I cover subject such as: Effort- Periodization(progression)- Confusion - Form- Nutrition - Lame Programs - Exercise choice and athlete idiocy.
Simply put it if you aren’t squatting heavy and frequently enough this article isn’t for you. This article is full of useful information for beginners and nearly everyone is a beginner. The whole article boils down to "Basics" and their importance.

Personalized programs

Programs do not work when they are not personalized, so traditional recipes are the same. Each one has to identify weak links and work on by planning workouts according with oneself's knowledge (body type, feelings, objectives, ...). I think that's the reason PP is of high preference.

I agree with elkynben, unless you personalise a program the individual concerned take no ownership. As a personal trainer I often am asked (indirectly) by my clients if I will take personal responsibility for them. What a load of rubbish! One of the easiest ways to win clients over (totally temporarily) is to promise them anything they want! This is so fake that they soon (within days) lost the drive because they never had it in the first place.
So it's all about empowering others to go for their own goals.
Just recently one of my clients scheduled an operation to have a double bulging hernia fixed. He shared with me that the doctor said he should lose between 5 - 10 kgs! Murray told me that he would LOVE to lose that weight. I said he was lying as I have heard him say it many times before. If he were truely passionate... it would lead to action and before long he would be a different person altogether.
Helping someone to create/ stick to their own personalised program is the key to success!
