Ankle injury

Hi. I had a similar injury 3 years ago, was told they couldnt see a fracture but put in a cast for 3 months. I always swore it was ligaments not bones that where injured. 3 years later and they have finally realised my ligaments arent attached and ive need reattachemnt surgery. To summarise if there is not an evident break then make sure you explore the possibilities of ligament injuries as these need to be addressed immediately.

Oh, boy...This sounds all

Oh, boy...This sounds all too familiar. I rolled my ankle at work about 3 weeks ago!! Been sitting on the couch ever since. It rolled inward and made a loud pop sound. Off to Urgent care for an x-ray and a splint with ace bandages. Lots of swelling and pretty bruises. Ice became my new best friend. My OS put me in a Air cast, but I had to wait 10 days due to this being a workers comp. case. Next Ct scan. I am no radiologist, but from looking at my scans and reading the report I think I have an avulsion fracture. I am still in pain, so I am guessing I have some, or a lot of ligament and tendon damage as well :( I am going back to the Dr. soon, and I am guessing he will do a MRI next. I would just really like my ankle fixed now, so I can start to heal. I too think my ligament is just floating around in there like a flag in the wind. (OUCH)I can't bear any weight, so this means crutches and lots of help from my poor loving tolerant family. mattyp. How long were you out from your surgery and how long were you in pain afterwards? Are you glad you did the surgery? Thanks in advance for any help!! Feel like I am going crazy. Will I ever be able to stand on my feet for 8 hrs. in a row? Guess I should have gone to college after all like my Mama told me to!! Haha!

I had an ankle and knee, so it's hard to seperate

the two.

But, six weeks in plaster, and a relatively quick recovery - although I had to have the plate removed because it was uncomfortable - and flying was no problem at all.
