Hi All,
Over the last few years I've read a number of articles that mentioned how athletes have had their best competition success after recovering from illness or injury or some other factor that has reduced their training time.
The common theme seems to me to be, an increase in mental rehearsal/imagery to compensate for less physical training and less but more efficient training (minimum effective dose instead of over training and more effective recovery).
I'm coaching a young athlete who has just recovered from glandular fever and I am am looking for some articles to inspire him. I have searched this site and google but mustn't be using the right search terms as I'm not finding much. If anyone can point me to anything along these lines, I'd be very grateful.
Thanks,
Harry

Dear Harry,
I'm not sure if this is exactly what you're after, but Lee Crust did write this great article on mental imagery for us back in 2004. Hope it helps. http://www.pponline.co.uk/encyc/mental-imagery.html
