Hello - I am suffering from what I think is a groin pull. I've been in pain for a month so I went to the doctor's yesterday and she told me to rest it for a week or two. I've been doing a diet and exercise program for over a year and have lost 50 pounds but still have more to go. I'm really afraid two weeks away from exercise will devastate my progress. Since I have to stay off my leg is there any other type of exercise I can do that will burn calories without using my leg? I've been doing some weight lifting but I really think I need the cardio to help burn calories. I would really appreciate any advice . . . . . .

2 weeks off wont' be a disaster, reduce your intake first off, in other words don't eat so much.
Second get yourself to a physio therapist and get your groin area, massage, and possibly they will use ultrasound equipemnet to enhance the repair...
If it's a groin strain, it's painful, but it shouldn't be more painful on one leg than the other..You could have a different problem, see a dedicated sports specialist...50Ilbs is already great progress, even if you don't have two weeks off, you are not guaranteed to progress at the same rate consistently.
Don't stress, and don't over do it.
I think that's excellent

I think that's excellent advice - not stressing is always ideal - and if you've lost 50 pounds then you aren't going to put it all back on in two weeks.
It's about changing your lifestyle in ways you can maintain and adapt for whatever life throws at you - two weeks without being able to exercise isn't that bigger deal - just be careful not to indulge too much in calorific things, and start up again in two weeks time.
