Hello,
After doing a short anaerobic piece (500m on rowing machine) I wondered what would be the minimum time that an elite athlete would need to get up to 100% Max HR ?
ie A would ten second event such as a 100m sprint be enough time for an elite athlete to reach max HR ?
WHy do I ask ? Am curious and keen to better understand the physiology and energy systems
I guess the work rate and time would be importnat ie I believe that a big heavy wieght lifer momentarily can generate 2000 watts when lifting a heavy weight but its so quick that I am am not sure his heart would even realise what was happening until it was all over ?
How about a 400m or 800m sprint or even a 4 minute mile ( I dont know much about running or running times)
Do the 4 minute mile people get up to MHR ?
Bill

That's a good question.
