i have a soccer player who is fully fit but in sunny hot conditions suffers badly and has dizziness. I see he is covered in all ways- sun lotion, water intake etc. but he still suffers. luckily we play in winter but I do lose him for vital games if we have sunny warm days in sept and april. Can anyone advise please?

I used to suffer quite severely in hot weather, but joined a gym where the air conditioning was not always working. This meant that aerobic spinning (cycling) sessions often took place during the summer in extremely hot conditions. I found that after a period of time doing this, that when I had to play hockey matches in heat I found my body much more able to cope. Perhaps the player mentioned should try jogging on hot days in the summer, for short period of time initially, I think his body would acclimatise slowly and he would find himself more able to cope for the odd hot game.
