Hi Alex

I'm in the process of completing my diploma in sports therapy here in Ireland, what I would love to know is what are my options of furthering my education over in England, I'm in quite a pickle over here!! I know I can do physio here but that would mean starting in 1st year. the course is ITEC recognised but not over here, I would love to work in the area of sport rehabilitation or sports science but I'm not sure of my options in the UK

I really hope you can advise me in some way

Hello mate,

Wolverhamptom uni had recently started a degree course in Rehab, which can then lead on to a masters in physio,

there are several uni's now doing degree course's in Sports Therapy,

Glamorgan uni doining a degree course in Chiropratic treatment as well a place in Bournemouth

Oxford Brooks are doing Osteopathy courses, there's several schools that do Manipulative therapy course if you do not want to go onto uni.

Hope that helps out a little, this info is as up to date as I can get it.

have a good un, cheers John Murphy

Look at www.ucas.co.uk

This site lists every institution in England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland.

Its dead easy to naviagate and find yourself around the site.

As john Murphy stated, lots of choices. Sport science and sports therapy degrees are 3 years. Sports rehab courses are excellent and are now getting very good recognition with governing bodies. Look at www.basrat.org They are sports rehabers and soon to be accreditted with a chartered society.

Without a degree, then there are limited areas to work in sport, especially elite.

Look at www.eis2win.co.uk and www.uksport.gov.uk These sites will tell you what jobs are currently available and what elite sport organisations are using as support staff.

Hope this helps
