I've been running for about a year. I got first place in my age (15+ females) catagory at a race last summer. I was so thrilled! o I don't ever practice running on flat pavement. I run up our hills and on our dirt road .) When I get to pavement I feel like I can fly.)
But I am no expert! roll My cousin has a gift for running so he's coached me and done a fantastic job (at least better than I was!)! I need help for exercises to strengthen my calves for when I run up the really steep part of hills. Any tips? Or any tips for strengthening my lungs? ?
Smile lots and Laugh often! D

Well done bamacowgirl, you are already doing the right things D ; you have a coach, you are running up hills (the best form of resistance training an athlete can do), you are asking questions & ( & this is the big PLUS) you are enjoying it.
As for your calves & lungs, do not worry about them, keep on hills & this will strengthen you in time.
Make sure you take plenty rest days, especially at your age, as your body is still growing & needs time to recover properly & a good varied nutritional eating plan is highly recommended.
Also your attitude is excellent, in that you seem to not take it too seriously, it is FUN. D

Regards,

Max. wink
