OK…let me introduce myself.
I am a 39 year old relative newbie to this running thing. I started about 6 months ago in an effort to get into shape and I’ve become well and truly addicted to this thing called running. Although I am not a fast runner I am ambitious. My first 10K was just a little over 58 minutes, I am now down to 47 minutes and I have just done my first ever half-marathon (Great North Run) in 1h:48m.
I have set myself the following (rather ambitious) goals for next year (2008):
Run sub 20 minute 5K
Run sub 40 minute 10K
Run sub 1h:30m half-marathon
Run sub 3h:30m full-marathon
I know these are not quite Olympic standard but I will be more than happy if I achieve these.
I am looking for any tips, advice and motivational speeches from anyone who is willing to help me achieve my goals.
