Hi

My name is Shaun and I am a 36 year old who is getting more addicted to running after every session.

I used to play football but had to pack in because of family committments on a weekend, not because I was too old or getting too many injuries !!!!

I have loved runing ever since being a kid and although I am not really built for it (5'4" and 11 1/2 stone) I get out about 5 times a week.

I have now joined a running club (Rothwell Harriers in Leeds) and done a couple of races with them. . We have a league XC coming up this weekend and at the moment we are top of the league (not that I get to count in the first 8, but there is hope). I am currently in training for the Prague half marathon in March. I enjoy off road running, particulalry fell races and have done a number in the lake district. My goal is to keep running and keep enjoing it and maybe one day bump into Jos Naylor whilst running the Ennerdale Horseshoe!!

I have taken part in the Great Lakeland Challenge a couple of times. This involved canoeing Windermere (10.5 miles) , cycling from Ambleside over Wrynose and Hardknott pass to Wasdale Head(26.5 miles) and then running over ScaFell to The Langdale Valley (8.5 miles). This is done as part of a three man team and is in aid of the Wooden Spoon Society (A very noble charity who raise millions for good causes). If anyone gets chance to enter this (or would like to enter as I am always up for doing it again) then I would highly recommend it. It is by far the most enjoyable and rewarding sporting acheivement I have undertaken.

:D Shaun
