Well, it's been awhile since I have been able to get onto this FORUM. I had
not been able to get in since the last major changes that were put in a little over a years ago I guess now. I am still running. Could I be considered New to the Forum as it appears a lot has changed since I have not been able to get in?

I will Try to be brief, as I am on my way out for a long run today. I have a marathon to run in October. Since I posted last, I have obtained my Personal Fitness Trainier Certification, through NESTA and just recently
received my Group Fitness Trainer Certification through AFAA. I ran my
second marathon Vermont City Marathon and completed with a Net time
of 3:45:47, I was on track for a 3:20:00 at the half, but my stomach was reacting to the late heavy breakfast I ate just before I reached the starting line. My wife gave me a bottle of water at mile 15, and it helped me to get through the rest of the race. So, I am still looking for that elusive 3:20:00 to qualify for Boston.

I ran a pentathalon event for the first time ever on August 4th. Now that was a test of metal, on a sweltering 90 degree evening. It went like this
5K - 22:44; 800M - 2:50; 3200M - 14:07; 400M - 1:15 1600M - 6:19. I am still not able to run with the best for very long, but I've met them while running. They have all been very kind, and I learn from watching, and talking to them. Anyway, I am training for a 3:20:00 marathon in October. I hope to get it, but if I don't I won't have to be as fast next year as I will be 45. I'm not sure what it will be then that I will have to have
but maybe a 3:30:00? I hope it will be the 3:20:00 in October. The goal
is not beyond what I could be capable of as long as I am careful what I eat
before the race, and when. I read and applied "The Running Formula" by
Jack Daniels PhD. His book has been a BIG Help this year. It prevented me from being injured like last year. I had an IT Band injury during my first marathon and finished in 4:44.

Well, it is Good to be back. You can bet I will be reading, replying and posting. Well, it's :D late and I have to hit the road.

Chartree :D
