i have a problem with a knee that will only bend backwrds to a certain point when walking or running and teds to stay straight whereas the other knee is extremely flexible. I am going on an infantry training camp with air cadets next year which involves running up and down mountains with a 15 kg rucksack - any ideas?

Knee flexion and extension

Sorry for the late reply but it sounds like your other knee is the problem if i understand your ? correctly?

There should only be a very limited amount of hyper extension, excessive straightness of your knees as they are not designed to hyper-extend too much. Previous ligament damage can be a cause of hyper-extension.

As long as u can straighten your legs to a straight position you will have no problems running, especially uphill as your legs will take less impact than on the flat.

Good Luck and hope this helped a bit?

Matt
