Hi,
My name is andy. I'm 21 years old, and I live in Salisbury MD (USA). I'm a senior at Salisbury University majoring in Exercise Science. I don't play any sports, because I wanted to devote most of my time to studies. In high school I ran XC and track. I also wrestled and played soccer (footbal in UK). My best times for running are as follows:
400M-53.35
800M-2:00.46
1600M-4:34.35
3200M-10:32.55
5000M-16:56.22
I hope that I meet some interesting people and have some thought provoking discussions here.

A W E S O M E . . . I Think

Hi Andy;
Those are Great Times I think, but I've only tried it once in my life
on a 90 degree day with hi humidity. I thought I was going to dround
Yes, I was running not swimming. So, perhaps on a better day I could
have done a little better. I'm sure everyone would have, and I'd like
to try running the pentathalon again. I did it one day in training, and
the event the following week. 8/4/2005 just about 3 weeks ago I guess.
The best runners posted similiar times to the ones that you have listed.
So, you would have no problem hanging with that heat. If you went to
www.hmrrc.com, and looked up the results of the pentathalon from
8/4/2005 you would know exactally what mean. I placed 17th. I normally
just run longer distances, and have only been training on my own for
3 years. However, I read . . "The Running Formula," by Jack Daniels
PhD., not to be confused with the Tennesee whiskey, but it sure makes
it easy to remember the title. I read Runners World too, but that is about
it. I think trying different things in running has helped me in a short time.
I don't know how much faster I will get at my age, but I will keep trying.
I hope to qualify for The Boston Marathon in October. I need a 3:20:59,
or better. It is my second attempt.
I wish you well with your studies. I have a PT Certification, and a Group
Fittness Certification, but that is all. I hope to have a part time job some
place in the near future.
Keep up with the running! I think you are doing Great!
