Hi
My first post, looking forward to becoming a regular contributor.
Been doing Muay Thai for about a year now which I love, have a background in gymnastics which really helps because of the flexibility I acquired when I was a kid. Also did Judo for quite some years so the fighting spirit is there. Also do ballet which is kind of an odd combination I suppose but it certainly keeps the joints moving. :D
Have just started sparring anyone got any tips for a very petite girl who wants to look after herself?
Cheers Rebecca

So far I've managed to avoid the palm tree treatment except on a Friday night when it's usually accidental. I'm the only girl in my club that has so far started sparring, but the guys are usually very kind to me as I'm about half the weight of most of them but very strong for my size. When we spar we have to wear shin guards and all novice fights make full protection a must so the shins hold out well! It really is worth giving it a go it's very invigorating, a great cardio work out and I would say my upper body strength has increased probably two fold since starting. Let me know if you decide to give it a go!!
