Can anyone give me advice for a change in career?

I am 31 years old and I am a serving Police Officer. I have coached youth level rugby union for a few years but I am very keen to to train as a strength and conditioning coach.

My problem is that I do not have the time or money to go to Uni to complete a degree. I want to know if there are any other routes that I can take to get qualified....and not a mickey mouse home study course that offers a diploma that isnt worth the paper its printed on!

Any ideas??? :?:

Do you have a degree already? The CSCS course run by the NSCA is a good course but you need a degree to take it.

Failing that you dont officially need any S&C qualifications but you will have to work your way up.

I dont have a degree but I am currently studying for a CYQ Personal trainers award.

I guess you are saying that without a degree the best way forward is to gain experience......but with who?

Any strength and conditioning coach. Just ask to go along for free and 'watch' then you can put it as work experience. Problem is financing 'working for free'.

You may be able to do the CSCS/UKSCA with some sort of personal trainer award instead of a degree. :)
