no i dont hv a coach....but yes i really agree with u,i need to start training now.But what of training?can anyone sort this thing for me pls?beside that my personal best for 100m is 12.85s and 28.68s for 200m,that without any training,so how much can I improve with training?and what kind of training?thanks.

Technique maybe the best starting point for you to develop your speed. Especially arm mechanics. Search the net for running arm mechanics and you will get some great soucres of info.

If you are looking for specialist sprint training programmes, then look at www.brianmac.demon.co.uk There are some good programmes to follow. As for strength training, that depends on how much expereince you have and how technically good you are at lifting.

if still need help

I am assuming you have had little training so far so i am going to reccommed a good starting point for you. You might be too young to start weightlifting so I would suggest doing pull-ups, pushups, crunchs, and leglifts for your strengthtraining for 2-3 days per week. On days you strength train do some plyometrics from here ( http://www.runnersworld.com/article/0,5033,s6-78-0-0-5902,00.html). Plan one day as your major workout day. At this point in your training try doing eight 300 meters runs with a minute recovery in between runs. Try your best to run this at a constant pace. To help you do this on the first couple go a little slower. Its better to start slow and end fast than to start fast and end slow. A week later do ten repeats instead of eight. One other day a week do 10x150 meters with a 50 meter jog in between. On another try to do with 12x100 with 50 meter job. You should run so you feel fairly comfortable in these two workouts. Remeber to warm up by easy jogging and doing some light stretching and to cool down by jogging easy again and again stretching. Take 2 days rest a week. Tell me if this helps.

But there is a few prob.I been doing some workout since the last 4 weeks ago and manage to gain up some muscle.I did all the things that u just told me,I even visit some website to gain more information about it.The main prob is I cant really do the things that u ask me to do<300m,150m,100,50m jog>.Can u suggest another training rather than that,coz i cant run until next year.Really sorry.... :oops:

i would advise you do to do tons of toe risers man it really helps :D im the fastest kid in my school cause of those do them every night before u go to bed if you dont know what they are look them up do about 150 of them in a row then u'll feel the pain :) its easy enough for you ,...your legs will be massive and then you'll be fast

Hi everyone, my name is iestyn, i am 15 and i live on the wirral! Kyle@ i am amazed at your pbs considering you are 13! where are you in malaysia? i am half malaysian myself! i am also amazed by your times too zachary105! i have tried plyometrics slightly before, i might start them again they seemed to work quite well :) but i haven't tried toe risers before - and my toe off is probably my weakest asset! :oops:
i will post my pbs on your topic now :wink: to see how they compare!

hey, no probs! my direct family is in seremban so that's were i went when i went back :P went to kuala lumpur too the twin towers are amazin! :lol:

we're about to start athletics now in school after hockey but the one event i reckon i will improve in is the 800 :P or 400.. 200 should do and 100 maybe i'm aiming for 11.6 by july... :shock: u?? ahh well did some weights too :P love 'em lol. can do reps just on about 50kgs i think on my quads :S! ahh well have looked at some training methods like interval training and fartleks... any experience anyone out there of anything that works well?? zachary105's toe risers maybe??

yeah the twin tower is really amzing,the 2nd tallest builiding in the world,well im aiming to run below 11.50s by next yr so i been doing bodybuiliding and of coz some sprint training sometimes to keep my training progress on the right track.anyway good luck in ur athletics.

im a 15 year old football/track sprinter ive been doin it for alomost two years now and im really enjoying both of them.football is my love more than track i just used track to get faster but i fell into a trap and cant get rid of the sport.
