Hello all,
I am a 23yr old female who has an anteriorly rotated pelvis on the left hand side causing si joint pain.
I am having frequent osteopathy treatments, weekly, but this doesnt seem to hold. As soon as I carry a bag on my shoulder (a moderately light bag) pain begins again. The osteopath has said that it has not 'slipped back' into the wrong position, its just the area is more sensitive now and that if I load my back at all this will be the cause until it heals.
Is it the ligaments that are damaged then? I believe ligaments are very tricky things to heal as they have poor blood supply, so am looking into prolotherapy. I have had this problem for 3 months and usually am a very active indivudual. I am getting very depressed now as I cannot continue to exercise and feel extremely unhealthy being in constant pain.
I was wondering if anyone could please recommend a prolotherapy doctor that they have had a good exeprience with? I have looked at other posts on prolotherapy but many of them seem to be quite old I was wondering if anyone has had successful treatment recently and who they saw?
Anywhere in the UK is fine if they are a good doctor!!!
Thanks so much for any help/ posts.

Prolotherapy for si joint pain

From Paul on Facebook, 'First thing that needs to be done is strengthen the glutes. A good way to do this is to rest the shoulders flat on the ground lifting the body up from the balls of the feet. Place a ball between the knees and extend one knee (leg straight out in the air in a horizontal fashion) for a 5-10sec interval alternating left and right. Repeat till fatigue sets in.
Hope this helps.'
I have had this problem for

I have had this problem for 3 months now and the osteopath said i need to rest, keep mobile obviously, but not to do any core strengthening until I am out of pain.
He also said there's no point in strengthening muscles around joints if they're not in the right place to start with.
I went to see a physio for about the first month of the problem occurring and he told me to do a lot of core work which i did... spent a lot of my day doing these exercises over about 3 weeks, but this did not help the pain. This is when i went to see the osteopath.
Am on my 6th visit to the osteopath now. I seem to be fine for a few days after the visits but then always seem to slip back to pain. The osteo said im not going back to how i was before, just the area has become very sensitive now.
This is why i was thinking of prolotherapy because i am not sure how much longer I can put up with this for.
Thanks for your help though... what do you think?!
