Like most people nowadays, I have a smartphone and have a variety of different sports apps, from run tracking, to a personal trainer like thing showing me different exercises and how to perform them. So just wondering what apps youse guys use, if any at all and why you like using them.

Video and bleep test

Hi Alex,
On my IPad I have a few apps I use regularly.
Most useful is V1 Golf a video app I first came across and used on a PC. It is cheap which suits me because I am not a professional user. Quality is good and provided you keep the clips short the resolution is pretty good. I use it mainly for tennis, analysing my 12 year old son who plays to a reasonable level, works really well. Also started using it for my daughter who has recently taken up golf.
Second app is a bleep test (Bll Test Solo) which we all use to compare how we are doing. It is not at all competitive in our house!!!
I have a tennis scoring app as well but that takes some concentration and is not always worth it.
Interesting thread you have started, I hope you get some interesting contributions.

Social (Competitive) Running app

hi jpwbenson
haha, sounds pretty good, not at all competitive by the sounds of it! saying that I am very much the same with my mates, theres an app if you like running, Nike+GPS which is good for competition, you can race against whoever you want, so you can set it to, first to run to 50 miles wins, and whoever the loser if has to set the next challenge. Has become really competitive with me and my mates, because none of us like loosing. Makes sport that little bit more social too, because you can send messages to them as they run, which is always a laugh, and sometime motivations, depends how you see it!
