I'm fresh into coaching a group of junior cyclist. The age group is from 14-17, boys and girls. I am aslo a competitive cyclist, but working with juniors is a little new to me. I was wondering if anyone has some great agility exercises that would be optimal for their stage of growth and development. I've already incorporated some exercises with wobble boards, and fitness balls, but I'd like to keep it interesting with some FUN variations.

Thanx a bunch

Agility Exercises for Cyclist

As most agility exercises are ground based, the cross over to cycling will be small. However, using footwork drills (ladders, hurdles stride canes, agility runs/courses) can firethe neuromuscular system up prior to cycling or any event. Gets the kids coordination and muscles working. This coordination may help with cycling.

Getting kids to complete particular exercises then incoperating them into an assault/agility course has worked with kids I have worked with previously. Incorperating balance into the skill is great too - hopping/bounding for several steps then hold for a couple of seconds and bound again (same or different direction).
