[Try Working the Line
Find a marked out straight line at your track and get your athletes to perform the South African down the line paying attention to foot placement at point of release keep working down the line hopefully this becomes second nature by the time they are back in the circle
Also try getting a bungie cord the type for resistance training from JJB Sports or other outlets and get thrower in standing throw position with a tight hold on D handle you hold other end and stand to the rear of circle taking out slack in cord then get the athlete to do a standing throw reapeat several times this will not only build a memory of the release angles and position ie hips first but will also give some resistance training and help to improve core stregnth and build up muscles ascociated with the throw
Make sure they dont let go of bungie otherwise you will get it in the face
Hope that helps

There are loads of drills you can do but it depends on how technical you want to be.
There are really basic things, starting right from he begining. EG bowling a discus with a wrist alined with the rest of the arm. This aids in correcing the overall flight of the discus. If the discus goes straight, its being done right, if it isnt, then its going wrong.
If you wanna know more, mail me and ill find some books for you.

Sam,
There are tons of drills you can do with discus. You can draw a backwards 7 with the top being where the athlete's feet go, and have them practice driving out of the back along the line. You can also have them practice getting power out of the back by doing a few reps pushing with the left leg, then a few reps driving the right leg across to the middle. A really good one for getting their left foot down (also getting a longer pull) is having them stand in the one turn/half throw position and have them do half turns thinking about getting their left foot down as quickly as possible. Discus golf is a really good drilling game for beginners. All you have to do is set up hurdles in different positions around the track and have the kids try to make it throw the hurdle opening in as few strokes as possible. They can either throw the discus regular or roll it to get it through. It's great practice and tons of fun. My Highschool coaches were really big on drills, so if you have any drills for particular problems or skills, you can E-mail me, because I've probably done a drill for it. Hope this helps!! :)
