I have for the last few years taken an interest in the development of the energy systems in the body and their influence on performance. I have a particular interest in the mitochondria and its development. One question I can't seem to find any information on is the nutritional aspect of this process. Can anyone point me in the right direction or offer any advice.

Hi
I would look first at Essentials of Strength Training and Conditioning (NSCA), Science pf Sports Training by Kurz, The Science and Practice of Strength Training by Zatsiorsky, and finally Exercise Physiology by McArdle, Katch and Katch.
