Hi people,
I'm not personally interested in building endurance/stamina but I am writing an article related to supplements and need to include as many supplements as possible within it.
My question is what supplements do you use, would you reccommend or have you heard of being used in conjunction with endurance training.
This is for the average joe trying to increase endurance up to the elite runner.
Here are two obvious ones, anyone else got any ideas
Caffeine
Citrulline Malate
Cheers
Martin

I have run to completion 12 Ironman races, the Western States 100 miler, the Hawaii Ultra Man Championships, the Coastal Challenge and an assortment of 24 hour adventure races. I am probably considered an endurance athlete. I once owned a health food and supplement store, I did an awful lot of reading research and self experimentation. Without being too scientific and simply answering your question. I supplement:
Omega 3 EPA & DHA
Glucosamine Sulfate 500
Zinc 30 mg
Acetyl L Carnitine 250
Vitamin C 1000
Lipoic Acid 200mg
Vitamin E 400 IU
Chromium Picolinate 200 mcg
Co Enzyme Q10 30 mg
Calcium Magnesium 1:1 500
Thanks for asking :)

Thanx for those links. The adaptogens seem a little 'under scientifically backed.' Plus they are relatively hard to get hold of for the average endurance trainer.
Anyone else want to through in a supplement that they have used or heard of being effective? The list above was great but an explanation of why these are used would be good here are my thoughts
Omega 3 EPA & DHA - General health, body re-comp
Glucosamine Sulfate 500 - Joints
Zinc 30 mg - not sure of zincs specificity to endurance....?
Acetyl L Carnitine 250 -
Vitamin C 1000 - Immune function
Lipoic Acid 200mg - As in Alpha lipoic acid....anti oxidant
Vitamin E 400 IU - anti oxidant
Chromium Picolinate 200 mcg - Not sure..........
Co Enzyme Q10 30 mg - Is this an anti-oxidant too?? :?:
Calcium Magnesium 1:1 500 - Not a clue to the link to endurance
