Hi all
I'm getting over an injury at the moment but when I'm fixed I've decided to scrap everything I know and start again. So ideally I'd like to be taught how to deadlift and squat by a coach and then move onto the olympic lifts.
Does anyone know where I can go for this. I live in South London. Obviously I've gone down to Crystal Palace NSC but it didn't look too good down there. (is that really our National Sports Centre?!!!)
Anyone know a coach or does anyone have any advice about teaching myself.
Thanks
Paul

Hi Paul, I suggest that you revisit Crystal Palace- have a look at the heavy weights room. I have trained there for over 2 years, and 11 athletes who train there went to Athens, as well as numerous other non- olympic sport Internationals. The training atmosphere is professional, supportive and intense.
Don't be fooled by shiny equipment, it is who is training and the coach that counts.
You can't learn from a video.

I agree with Excelsior.
Although the centre is not in great shape, the trainers are excellent and can teach exercises to a very high level. Its is definately the coaching staff that are important and not the centre that is important.
I know the EIS train athletes there and the strength coaches are excellent who are regionally based in London. Definately revisit the place.

Thanks for the replies,
Alex & Excelsior I must have missed the heavy weights room, all I saw was a gym full of cardio equipment, I'll go back. I agree, I don't care about appearances, there are more important qualities in a gym.
Rocket, I've PMed you with my email address
