ankle problem

i managed to knock my left ankle bone out of place last season while throwing the javelin, i slipped on the runway and fell awkwardly. i had physio for a few months and it helped alot. Also since my ankle injury i have been having alot of pain from my achilles on my right foot, my physio said that the achillies had shortend to compensate for me limping on my left foot for soo long. the stretches that i was given to stretch out my achillies have eased the pain alittle.
if anyone knows any good excersices that could help strengthen the ankle and stretch out my achillies it would be great.

If I was in your position I would find a good podiatrist and get both feet ankle's sorted/checked out. they should also give an exercise regime, the feet and ankle are a wonderous things but we tend to neglet them until it's far to late. The podiatrist would do a biomechanical assessment on your lower limbs to find any outstanding problems. JOHN see my Post (eugene). IS THERE ANYTHING YOU CAN ADVISE. i will pay for advice if you think i could carry out your directions. i have 25years working with teams etc but not qualified

Hi, Sam:
If you scroll down in this forum, you'll see a topic on Achilles Tendonitis. In it, the user 'rundot' posted some links to two helpful articles on achilles tendon strengthening and stretching exercises.
I've already used them for myself and my clients, and so far, so good!

Ankle stregthening

If your really serous abuot getting your ankle back to its mobility and strength. Just sit on a counter and put a bucket on ur foot, raise your foot slowly up and down w/ the bucket on it, and something in it if you want weights. That should work your achilles. You can also sit on a counter, strap a lil weight on your ankle, and trace the alphabet 5 times from A-Z with your foot.
