Sciatica help

Hi there, I am a judo coach and also a massage therapist and the best exercise to do until you get to a physiotherapist is to sit or lie on your back on the tatami and hug your knees to your chest and gently ROCK. Do this for several minutes. It opens the space between the vertebrae and relieves the pressure on the sciatic nerve.
I do this 30 times before each judo session as part of the judo warm up.

Ausdebphil is absolutely right. It's important to open the space between vertebrae to relieve pressure.
I had a similar injury a few years ago, and ended up doing weeks of physical therapy. One of the things the therapist did was had me in traction for a period of time each visit...and it was to create space between the vertebrae.
If it becomes more and more painful, you might consider physical therapy. There are many things physical therapy can do to make you feel better without pain medication.
Good luck!
Sciatic nerve pain

You are describing sciatica, however are you certain that it is caused by slipped disk? Many things can impinge the sciatic nerve and although vertebrae is one possibility another could also be hyper-tonic piriformis. Physical or massage therapy may be an option
