.My ankle was broken as a result of being struck by a vehicle while I was about to cross the street on foot. It happened on March 17th and was obviously quite traumatizing. I will probably never feel the same about walking the streets of New York, which has been something that I've thoroughly enjoyed until now. The doctors manipulated my foot/ankle at the emergency room and then I had surgery 9 days later. The staples have to stay in for two weeks, they are to be removed on April 10th and then he said I will get the walking boot but I have to wait at least another month before I can put any weight on it. He hasn't mentioned anything about physical therapy so I'm going to mention it when I go to have the staples removed. Unfortunately most of my friends and all of my family live in Florida, so like most people on here I'm stuck inside on the second floor and I'm going stir crazy. I felt a little depressed and thought maybe it was because of my own circumstances but I now realize that what I feel is normal, and we just have to get through this difficult time and be grateful for everything that is going right. Anyway, just wanted to share my experience. Thanks for reading.

to newyorkman...just wanted to say hello and hope you are, or have recovered successfully from your injury.I am surprised no one has responded to you. Being away from friends and family is hard ANY time, but this is a traumatic event for you. So sorry you did not receive a response sooner.
